Welcome to Lakshmi Narayan Ashram

A traditional Vedic Ashram in Prayagraj, India, near the sacred Triveni Sangam – preserving and sharing the timeless wisdom of Sanatana Dharma through Vedic Yagyas and Jyotish.

The Ashram is dedicated to preserving and sharing the timeless wisdom of Sanatana Dharma, the eternal Vedic tradition. Rooted in the teachings of the Vedas and sustained through the Guru–Shishya Parampara – the uninterrupted lineage through which sacred knowledge is transmitted from teacher to disciple – our work seeks to uphold the authenticity of ancient spiritual practices while making them accessible to sincere seekers around the world.

Our doors are open to all who approach with sincerity, regardless of nationality, culture, or religious background. The wisdom of the Vedas belongs to humanity, and its purpose is to inspire inner transformation, compassion, wisdom, and a life lived in harmony with the Divine.

Introduction to the Ashram

An Ashram is traditionally understood as a place dedicated to spiritual study, disciplined practice, selfless service, and the pursuit of higher knowledge. It is a living environment where ancient teachings are preserved not only through study but through daily practice and direct guidance.

Lakshmi Narayan Ashram follows the principles of Sanatana Dharma, the eternal spiritual tradition described in the Vedas – a complete way of life that recognises the unity of all existence and encourages every individual to discover their true nature through knowledge, devotion, righteous action, and meditation.

The activities of the Ashram include the performance of authentic Vedic Yagyas, Jyotish consultations, scriptural study, spiritual education, mantra recitation, and guidance for personal and family life.

Introduction to Vedic Yagyas

Yagya, also known as Homa or Havan, is one of the oldest living spiritual traditions in the world. Mentioned throughout the Vedas, it is regarded as a sacred offering through which human beings express gratitude to the Divine and seek harmony with the natural and cosmic order.

A Vedic Yagya is performed by offering sacred substances into a consecrated fire while qualified priests recite precise Sanskrit mantras preserved through the Guru–Shishya tradition.

Participation is available both in person at the Ashram in Prayagraj and remotely through Sankalpa. Learn more about Yagyas →

Introduction to Jyotish Consultations

Jyotish, the Vedic Science of Light, is one of the six Vedangas – the classical disciplines supporting the understanding of the Vedas.

A Jyotish consultation is not intended to predict an unchangeable future. Rather, it provides insight into the karmic patterns reflected in the birth chart and offers practical guidance for living in greater harmony with one’s Dharma.

Through careful analysis of planetary positions, Nakshatras, Dashas, divisional charts and yogas, Jyotish helps illuminate vocation, relationships, family, health, education, finances, and spiritual development.

Upcoming Yagyas

The Ashram follows the traditional Vedic lunar calendar throughout the year. Sacred observances are organised according to lunar phases, planetary movements, Ekadashi, Purnima, Amavasya, Sankranti, and other important festivals described in the Vedic tradition.

  • Ashadha Amavasya & Pitru Yagya – honouring ancestors and healing ancestral karma.
  • Devshayani Ekadashi & beginning of Chaturmasya – the sacred four-month period of intensified spiritual practice.
  • Guru Purnima – one of the holiest festivals of the Vedic tradition, honouring the Guru–Shishya Parampara.
